How to calculate net promoter score

NPS = 100 × (promoters − detractors) ÷ all valid responses

NPS ranges from −100 to 100 points. Passives remain in the denominator. The result does not correct for sampling bias or report statistical uncertainty.

Common questions

Net Promoter Score FAQ

Is NPS a percentage?

It is expressed as a score in points: the percentage of promoters minus the percentage of detractors. A score of 45 is not a 45% satisfaction rate.
