Methodology

Know what goes into the answer.

Our calculation and editorial standards make each tool easier to inspect, reproduce and use responsibly.

One question, one explicit model

Each calculator states the decision it supports, the required inputs and the formula. Different definitions are labeled: revenue LTV differs from contribution LTV, media CPA differs from full CAC, and the SaaS quick ratio differs from the liquidity quick ratio.

Examples are reproducible, not forecasts

Prefilled numbers are illustrative. They are not measured business benchmarks, expected investment returns or current market rates. The worked example on a page uses the same model as its interactive tool. Invalid denominators and unsupported input combinations produce an explanation instead of a misleading zero.

Precision and rounding

Calculations use JavaScript floating-point numbers and round the display, usually to two decimal places. CSV exports retain the underlying numeric result. Whole-unit sales hurdles round upward. Actual lenders, tax authorities and accounting systems may apply different timing and rounding conventions.

Costs, units and time

Currency amounts use the currency you supply; no exchange rate is applied. Period-based figures must cover the same dates. Recipe tools convert only within weight, volume or count units, using standard unit factors. They do not guess ingredient density, purchase prices or usable yield.

Evidence and sources

Calculator pages link to background reading and disclose their own model assumptions. A source link is not an endorsement or a claim of professional review. Our financial guide library keeps published articles at their existing canonical URLs. We do not publish a separate duplicate blog or invent author qualifications.

Search-demand research helps prioritize tools; it does not validate financial formulas or prove that every calculator has search demand. Search visibility and rankings are not guaranteed by publishing a larger catalog.

Validation and corrections

Changes are checked against known numeric examples, model boundaries and core browser interactions before release. Automated checks supplement review; they do not make software infallible. Report suspected errors with a reproducible example through contact and corrections.

Scope and responsibility

These are educational planning tools. They do not determine tax obligations, employment rules, investment suitability or a company’s market value. See the disclaimer and terms of use.
