Job Costing Calculator
Build a job cost from materials, labor, subcontractors and applied overhead, then compare it with your quote.
Estimated job costExample$2,900

- $1,100
- Direct labor cost
- $1,000
- Applied overhead
- $400.00
How to calculate job costing
Job cost = materials + labor hours × (loaded hourly cost + overhead rate) + subcontractors
Apply overhead using a defensible allocation basis. Loaded labor already includes employer costs; do not add the same costs again in overhead.

Job Costing FAQ
Is estimated job profit the same as actual profit?
No. Replace estimated hours and costs with actual records after delivery. Quote changes, rework and unallocated overhead can change the result.
